Terms of Service

Draft — pending legal review
This document was written in-house to be reviewed and amended by a qualified lawyer before Weave opens to the public. Highlighted values still need to be supplied. It is not yet a binding agreement.
1. Who we are, and what this is
Weave is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS](“Weave”, “we”). These terms form the agreement between you and us for your use of the Weave app and website. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Weave.
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled and forms part of this agreement.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] to use Weave. You need an account, which you create by signing in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep access to that email address secure — anyone who controls it can reach your account.
One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not create accounts by automated means.
3. Beta
Weave is in beta. Features may change, break or be withdrawn, and the service may be unavailable at times. We may reset non-essential data during this period, and we will give notice in the app before doing anything that would lose content you created. Export your data at any time (section 6) if you want your own copy.
4. Your content, and your responsibility for it
Weave is a private address book. The notes, tags, photos and records you keep about the people you have met are yours: you decide what to record and why, and you keep all rights in it. We do not claim ownership, we do not publish it, and we do not use it to train AI models. We store and process it on your behalf so the product can work — as explained in section 1 of the Privacy Policy, you are the controller of that content and Weave is your processor.
The consequence is that you are responsible for what you record. In particular:
- Only record information about other people that you have a lawful reason to hold — for most users this is the ordinary, personal keeping of contacts.
- Do not use Weave to build address books on behalf of a company, to compile lists for marketing, or to enrich or resell contact data.
- Respond to people who ask you about a record you keep about them, and delete it when you no longer have a reason to keep it. Weave gives you the tools; the decision is yours.
- Do not upload content you have no right to use, or content that is unlawful, defamatory or abusive.
You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, back up, transmit and display your content to you and, where you have chosen to share something, to the people you shared it with. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- harass, threaten, stalk or spam anyone through Weave;
- scrape, crawl or bulk-extract profiles, or attempt to enumerate accounts or people who are not on the service;
- probe, disrupt or attempt to bypass our security or access-control measures, or access data that is not yours;
- use automated systems to interact with the service beyond ordinary personal use;
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit any part of Weave.
You can block another user at any time, which stops them from messaging you. Report abuse to [CONTACT EMAIL].
6. Exporting and deleting
You can export a full copy of your data at any time, free, on every plan. You can delete your account yourself from your settings, and doing so removes your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. Notes and content that other users wrote about you belong to them and remain theirs.
7. Plans, payment and cancellation
Weave offers a free plan and one or more paid plans. What each plan includes — how many contacts you can keep, how many AI searches you can run in a day — is shown on the plans page and may change as the product develops; we will give notice before a change that reduces what you already pay for.
During the current test phase no payment is collected and every plan is free. Nothing on the plans page creates a payment obligation until we begin charging, and we will ask you to agree to prices before that happens.
Once charging begins:
- subscriptions renew automatically for the period you chose, at the price shown when you subscribed;
- you can cancel at any time from your settings; cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for;
- consumers in the EU have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the purchase of a subscription. If you ask us to start the service immediately, you may be charged in proportion to what you used before withdrawing;
- beyond that, payments are not refundable except where the law requires or where we have failed to provide the service;
- taxes are added where applicable, and the payment provider’s own terms apply to the transaction.
If you exceed a plan limit — by keeping more contacts than your plan allows, for example — the excess becomes read-only rather than deleted, and remains exportable and deletable. We will never withhold your own data to make you upgrade.
8. Availability and warranties
We work to keep Weave available and correct, but we provide it “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI search results will be accurate or complete — AI answers are suggestions to check, not statements of fact. Nothing here excludes rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Weave and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that puts other users or the service at risk, or where we are required to by law. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right, and we will give you an opportunity to export your data.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data where you could reasonably have kept your own copy through the export tool. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, or [LIABILITY FLOOR] if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. For material changes we will give at least [NOTICE PERIOD] notice in the app or by email. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using Weave and delete your account before it takes effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of [GOVERNING LAW], and disputes are subject to the courts of [JURISDICTION]. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in and may bring proceedings there.
13. Contact
